NOTE: Recommended for anyone who hasn't worked with formulas or charts before or those with little or no experience with Excel. Great refresher course for students who haven't used Excel in a long time.
Learn how to navigate the Excel user interface (Tabs, Ribbons, & Quick Access Toolbar). Learn keyboard shortcuts to speed up various tasks. Create, Open, Close, Save, Preview, and Print a spreadsheet.
PERFORM CALCULATIONS WITH FORMULAS & AUTOSUM:
Use AutoSum to add numbers. Understand cell references in formulas and how to perform basic calculations. Use Formulas to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, calculate percentages. Learn how to AutoFill (copy) Formulas. Much of the class will be devoted to creating formulas.
Add borders, patterns (background colors). Center, Bold, Italicize, change font/font size. Convert numbers to currency or percentages. Add graphics, rename a spreadsheet tab, etc.
EDIT A SPREADSHEET:
Select (highlight) cells. Copy, Move, Format, and Delete text and numbers. Insert additional sheets, columns, and rows. Delete sheets, columns, and rows. Resize columns and rows. Sort data. Freeze columns and/or row headings so they always remain visible as you scroll, hide / unhide columns and / or rows. Learn about various printing options, including how to reduce the size of a spreadsheet to make everything appear on one page, make titles (column headings) print out on every page of your spreadsheet, add headers and footers, etc.
CHARTS & GRAPHS:
Create and Edit a variety of different dynamic (automatically updating) charts, change chart types, apply Styles and Layouts to charts, format individual elements in a chart, etc.
